Brian for Model Number WRX986SIHZ00

My ice maker has decided to stop making ice. Test 56 reports no errors (E0). Test 57 can successfully complete a harvest. Test 59 reports no errors, either. Test 45 will successfully fill the tray with water. Test 15 shows the bin isn't full. Test 36 shows the fan is in working order. The unit dispenses water properly. It makes ice fine if I manually control the process, but it will neither harvest ice automatically nor refill if I don't run test 45. In addition to running the service tests, I've tried unplugging the fridge for ~60 seconds. What else can I test here?

Answer

Brian, it would be recommended that a thermometer is used to identify if the freezer section is reaching the set temperature. An ice maker will not properly harvest unless the temperature going to the ice maker is less than 10°F. If the temperature is good, then it would be likely that the sensor in the ice maker W11658802 is not reading properly and the ice maker would need to be replaced.
