Ginny Pressly for Model Number SQD25NBL - in use since beginning of 1994 (WOW!) Just want to make sure replacing the water inlet valve is likely to fix our problem. Most people seem to be having a problem with not enough water getting to the ice maker - no ice, small ice, etc. We're a little on the other side. When the bin is full, thus ice isn't being made regularly, water seems to seep into the line to the ice maker, and it ultimately freezes up. Have to take the last piece of hose to the ice maker off, and even take a hair-dryer to the pipe it attaches to to get the ice out. (Very annoying!) Another thing that has happened recently, it seems like the ice cube on the right might get filled more than it should and it has trouble kicking out. The ice maker clicks until you help this piece get out, then all is well for a while. (This doesn't happen every fill.) So, likely water inlet valve??? (Just water is working fine.) Thanks!
Answer Ginny, This issue will most likely be caused by a water valve that is not fully closing and would need to have the valve to be replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, August 18, 2017
