Sean, That style Timer Knob "screws" off and on the metal timer shaft. Push in on the knob and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. Turn the new knob clockwise to install it on the timer shaft. Mkae sure you unplug the power cord first, turn the knob on the shaft until the pointer dial starts to turn, that's tight enough. it will tighten as needed. Thanks
