Susanna O Fish Camp , CA November 29, 2014 The wash cycle selector knob a manufacturer's original part made out of plastic sheered off Googled Whirlpool and talked to a representative, explaining that the knob used for selecting the wash cycle sheered off at the back and I needed a new knob to replace it. The sales rep. told me I needed the timer replaced. I found it strange that a knob would be permanently attached to the timer but I assumed the guy knew his business. He turned out to be a beginner. I received the timer, the part cost me $178.50 with delivery but there was no knob with it. Luckily, the company refunded all my costs. So I called a friend contractor, who gave me your web address and in less then two days I received a metal reinforced wonderful knob that will, I'm certain, lest longer then my washer. Great service! Thanks a lot, And nstallation took less than two seconds :o) Susanna Read More... 4 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes

Roger D Embarrass , MN June 21, 2014 Timer knob broken off Removed broken portion of old knob and installed new knob. The biggest problem was getting the old portion in the up position, then trying to get it off. Had to use a pair of regular pliers and a pair of needle nose pliers. Once in the up position the needle nose pliers were used to hold the screw and broken portion of knob was loosened with the other pair of pliers. Once off partially switched needle nose pliers to hold base of knob screw and finished removal with the othe pair of pliers. The broken portion of the old knob seemed like it was glued or melted on. Once off the replacement went right on, and is now working fine. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers
