Troy July 15, 2018 for Model Number LTE6234AW0 I need to replace the washer cycle select knob shaft. What would be the correct part number?
Lou July 13, 2017 for Model Number LSR7233EQ0 My Whirlpool Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus washer does not always advance from one cycle to the next when I use the “Normal” cycle; however, it works just fine on “Permanent Press,” “Delicate,” and “Hand Washables.” When I use the “Normal” cycle, sometimes it will stop (and the clothes just soak in the water) after it finishes the “wash” or “rinse” cycles, and to get it to advance, I have to jiggle the timer knob to get it to go to the next cycle. Also, the “Timer Knob” on my washer (AP6008112/WP3364291) spins freely to the left or to the right—it is not tight at all. Will replacing the timer knob solve this problem, or do I need to do something else? Thank you, Lou
1 Answer Lou, Based on your post information, you do want to check and make sure the timer knob and skirt aren't cracked, broken or "stripped" on the timer shaft. If they aren't damaged or defective, you will want to start by replacing the timer WP3949339. The internal contacts and gears have deteriorated and aren't aligned properly and causing the problems. Rena April 26, 2017 for Model Number LSC8245AN0 How do I remove the old timer knob from the washer? I have tried but it won't budge. Do I force it off? I will be ordering the replacement knob AP6008112. Is that the correct one for my washer?
1 Answer Rena, Pull the timer knob out and grab the shaft with a pair of needle nose pliers and unscrew counter clockwise. Read More...
Janet March 22, 2016 for Model Number LST7233AW0 The Cycle Control Knob broke off my washer. It's very old but still works fine so I would like to replace the part. The plastic "claw-like" piece that fits over the screw is broken. Clear plastic piece that goes next is fine, but the actual knob that you pull in & out is also broken, or maybe stripped on the inside. can you help me figure out which replacement parts to order? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Janet, You will need to order one 285938 timer if the threaded shaft the knob screws onto is damaged. The knob in black is WP3364293. If you need the knob in white order WP3364293, almond WP3364293, and gray is WP3364293. If the dial were needed it is 280193 and in only available in the color shown. Read More...
Jeff January 10, 2016 for Model Number lsq96655qo This model calls for part #3364291 that is supposed to unscrew. Mine turns free and will not move the timer. I also cannot unscrew the knob while holding the dial. Is the knob possibly stripped. Or does this model take a different knob?
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Based on the model number you provided, it sounds like the timer is stripped out or the knob is broke. Try pulling the knob and see if it comes off because it is broke. Read More...

Casey June 17, 2014 I have a Maytag washer top-loading. The control/timer knob, a push and turn one, broke off the shaft. I cannot remove the rest of the shaft that has broken off. How do I remove the broken shaft? How do I fine the part number of the knob.
1 Answer Casey, We would need to have the model number of the washer to properly assist but it sounds like you have broken the shaft of the timer as the knob normally would just slide over the timer shaft. Read More...
