Bob Nold for Model Number Maytag - MDB5601AWW3 The dishwasher will not run. I expect that I need either a new touch pad or new circuit board. Some of the lights on the touch pad will come on while others do not. The start button does not respond. I have been able to get the delay indicator to come on, but after a few seconds all the lights go dead. Is it more likely that I need the touch pad or the controller?
Answer Hello Bob, I would first check behind the kickpanel for the service sheet and execute an automatic service test. Let it go all the way through the test and note the results. If any lights flash at the end of the test, it is a fault code. The tech. sheet will list the failure codes. You can also use a pencil eraser on the ribbon cable in the same direction as the traces to clean them. If niether of these produce results, the control board WPW10218837 is probably at fault.
