Nate for Model Number Maytag mdbtt50aww My handle has been broken for quite some time. Yesterday it finally completely broke and the dishwasher wouldn't work anymore. I was assuming because the actuator wasn't engaging because of broken handle. I purchased and installed a new handle and made sure the wires were hooked back up correctly. I put everything back together, turned on the breaker and still no lights on the touchscreen and the buttons do nothing. Reading through some peoples reports it seems that the touchscreen (part 6-919843) gets messed up from pulling on the broken handle harder so as to open the dishwasher. However, the guy where I bought the part said that if the touchscreen doesn't have power then the main control board (part W10218822) needs to be replaced. The local store will not accept a return on an electronic part. Is there a way to diagnose this myself or do I need to get an appliance repair guy to come out?
Answer Hello Nate. If you order the board from us and it does not fix the issue, you can return it. I would suggest removing the ribbon cable from the control board and then clean it with rubbing alcohol and see if it starts to work again on the unit. Read More...
