Vanessa M. for Model Number FAV6800AWW I have a Maytag Neptune washer. It has stopped spinning and a fault code "Lr" keeps coming up. I had this same problem about two years ago and a repair man fixed it after three trips. I can't remember the part that fixed it but when facing the washer he put it on the right side of the washer. My husband could fix it if he knew what part it was. If you could help with this I would greatly appreciate it. When I purchase another washer, it will not be a Maytag, it will be a Whirlpool! Thank you, Vanessa
Answer Hi Vanessa. Remove the power. Remove the back. Take the motor connector off. Use an ohm meter on the 2-gray wires. they should ohm out between 155 - 195 ohms. now check the black, white and brown wires. They should ohm out to 5 - 7 ohms between any 2 wires. Check all individual wires mentioned, one leg at a time against the motor chassis to see if any of these windings are grounded. If so then you will need motor part # is WP25001034. If all these windings test out good, then replace the motor control assy. part # is WP25001079. Thank you. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, August 17, 2011
