Mike for Model Number MLG2000AWW Hello, The washer appears to function properly but the clothes are wet at the end of the cycle. I checked the drain pump and it appears to be clear. I did notice that the backflow valve does not seem to be working properly. Water remaining in the hose at the end of a pump cycle eventually flows back into pump. Could this cause the clothes to remain wet?
Answer Mike, Water remaining in the pump and drain hose would be "normal" unless you had a drain problem in the plumbing. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a quart or so of water, even if the check valve in the pump is working properly. A couple of things you want to check before you go too far. Make sure the door is closing and locking after the first few minutes of the wash cycle. If the door doesn't remain locked during the cycle, the washer won't spin, leaving the clothes wet. You may have to set there a while, but you do need to make sure the washer is spinning (and not tumbling back and forth, or not "ramping up" to the high spin speed. If it tumbles instead of spinning this would indicate an open off balance switch, or a faulty control board. Let us know what you find, and we can get your machine running properly for you.
