Missouri Moore for Model Number LXR9445JQ1 I am smelling a sewage smell in my washing machine when it is washing only, usually just the wash cycle. I have taken it completely apart twice--removing tub, etc. There seems to be a minimal amount of grey water in the very bottom of the tub and in the short drain hose to the pump. It smells and is gunky. I've cleaned it, but the problem persists. Sometime ago, I had a small piece of laundry get sucked to the pump when one of the lint filters had come off. No draining, burning smell. I tracked the problem to the pump and removed said object. I don't have any backflow from the standpipe, so it seems maybe all but a bit is draining out or flowing back in from drain pipe? All I see online talks about a pump not pumping at all. My works fine otherwise. I also have no leaking on the floor either. So, can the pump somehow be bad and allow a bit of water to remain? I'm trying to decide if the pump needs replaced or if the problem is something else. In a working machine between washes is there water in the drain pipe at all? Thanks for your help.
Answer Missouri Moore, This unit would have water left in the drain during and after the wash cycle completes. You will want to try to clean the unit with a product like washer magic which is designed to clean out the gunk that can build in a washer. Read More...
