Billy T. part number 3363394. You make it look so easy to change the pump, but the pump has gone bad 2 times. The first time it was in warranty. The second time I replaced it. The pump was froze to the motor shaft, both times. What can be done to stop this? I had to beat it with a rubber hammer and cut the pump off with a saw.
Answer Hello Billy, This is caused by a water leak causing the motor shaft to rust. The rust expands, freezing the pump to the motor shaft. To prevent this from occurring again simply sand the motor shaft to remove all of the rust possible and apply grease to the motor shaft. This will deter moisture and help prevent the oxidation of the steel. Re-install the pump and the next time the pump fails it will come off easily. Read More...
