Answer

Hello Billy, This is caused by a water leak causing the motor shaft to rust. The rust expands, freezing the pump to the motor shaft. To prevent this from occurring again simply sand the motor shaft to remove all of the rust possible and apply grease to the motor shaft. This will deter moisture and help prevent the oxidation of the steel. Re-install the pump and the next time the pump fails it will come off easily.
