Mitch for Model Number WTW5540SQ0 Washer was running fine. Then when I put in the next load, nothing happened. No clicking, no humming, no water intake. I thought the problem was electrical so I replaced the fuses in my fuse box, but nothing happened. Then I plugged the washer into a different outlet and it ran fine for about 10 minutes. Then it stopped, there was a small amount of water on the floor and a bad smell. I unplugged the machine and was told it could be the "belt," but research now shows that this is a beltless model (right?). Could it be the drive pump? I'm taking all suggestions!
Answer Mitch, Correct, this is a "direct drive" washer and has no drive belt. The drain pump WP3363394 could be the issue. If the bearings are worn and seizing up or if there is an obstruction in the pump, this would cause the motor to overheat and cause an odor and"open" the motor overload/safety switch, and the motor would have to cool down and the switch reset before the washer could run again.
