Mike for Model Number Maytag Performa-pyg2300aww Push start button, tumbles and heats up fine. Open door to check dryness, close door, push start, tumbles, gas valve clicks on but does not lite. Dryer and exhaust fill with unburned natural gas. Is there a test for the flame sensor or is it a gas valve problem? Thanks.
Answer Hello Mike. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the igniter WP31001556 is weak and will need to be replaced. You can test the flame sensor for continuity. It should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
