Billy W for Model Number w8txngmwq00 Ice maker is not harvesting. It is full of water. Timer doesn't seem to be turning. I have already cleaned the coils in back and freezer temp is 2. What should I do?
Answer Hello Billy, You should first check the pins on the icemaker motor W10190935. The pins are located in the center of the white gear. If these pins are broken unit will not cycle properly. If this checks ok then remove the ice motor and check continuity across the pins on the housing of the icemaker. There will be 4 at the bottom, 2 for the thermostat and 2 for the heater. If you are not getting continuity between the 2 inner pins then you have a bad thermostat WP627985 and if you don't have continuity between the two outer pins then you have a blown heater WPW10190929. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
