Bob for Model Number 596.72282202 My icemaker no longer makes ice. There is no water in the unit...previously it made ice but then seemed to over flow and cause all of the ice to freeze together. For the past 6 months the unit has only made ice intermittently and has only recently tried to over flow. Currently I hear the water valve cycle occasionly but there is no no water or ice.The water dispenser in the refrigerator works fine. Do I just need a valve or the icemaker as well?
Answer Hello Bob! If you can manually cycle the ice maker and the ice maker cycles, you will need to check the fill tube. Make sure that the fill tube is not frozen or has developed any leaks. If that is fine, replace the valve. You will need to check both the primary WP12544002 and secondary valve 12002193 on your unit to see which one is getting power and not letting water through. If the ice maker is not cycling then replace the ice maker part number D7824706Q. Hope this information helps! Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, May 9, 2011
