Mike for Model Number Gd5rhaxnb00 My whirlpool gold refridgerator is not making ice. I am able to dispense water from the water dispenser. I have an inferred sensor and I can see the red light on. Could it be the inferred ice control?
Answer Hello Mike, To test the infrared sensor you will open door. The light should be flashing. When you close the flapper on the left side without blocking the opening then it should stop flashing. If it continues to flash then the board W11629974 is bad and needs to be replaced. If it does stop then you will want to check the icemaker module W10190935. When you pull icemaker out you will pull the white cover off and look at the large gear. Check the pins in the middle of the gear for being broken. If they are broken then replace module.
