Jer for Model Number MTW6700TQ0 I replaced the bearings and shaft on my Maytag Bravo washer. During reassembly, I put the motor rotor over the stator and tightened the center bolt until it was tight. I still have some slight movement of the rotor, in and out. Is this normal? I did not notice this when I disassembled the rotor. I see the specialty bolt has space between the retaining clip and the head. Is this so that the rotor can sort of float when spinning at such a high rate of speed? Please advise, Thank You.
Answer Jer, the rotor should not have any movement on the drive shaft when secured by the mounting bolt. In regards to why there is spacing on the bolt itself, the manufacturer does not identify why it is designed as such. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Sunday, February 20, 2022
