By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18071610
Manufacturer Part Number: WPW10705575

The Turbidity Sensor is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It detects the level of particles in the water during the wash cycle, allowing the dishwasher to adjust the cycle duration and water usage for optimal cleaning performance. This sensor ensures that dishes are thoroughly cleaned by monitoring water clarity.

You should replace the turbidity sensor if it becomes faulty or damaged. Causes of a bad turbidity sensor can include regular wear and tear, exposure to hard water minerals, or electrical malfunctions. A malfunctioning sensor can lead to inefficient cleaning cycles and poor wash results.

Symptoms of a bad turbidity sensor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Dishwasher running longer than usual or shorter cycles
  • Error codes related to the sensor
  • Inconsistent wash performance

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

John for Model Number 665.13733k600

You guys helped me fix my dryer a week ago, now my dishwasher is broken. I'm having bad luck lately with my appliances. I'm hoping you will be able to help with this appliance as well. The dishwasher stopped in the middle of a cycle. The control pad is not responding and there are no lights. I pulled out the wiring diagram from under the dishwasher and I came across a suggestion to disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control circuit board. Then reassemble the panel and close the door. The next part of the instructions puzzle me. It says to disconnect and reconnect the thermister or OWI sensor two times in less than 6 seconds. Trouble is I have no idea where that is! Would you be able to tell me please? I have ordered a new bi metal thermal fuse from your site yesterday. I have a feeling though that it may not be the problem. I took the fuse out and tested it for continuity with my digital meter and it registered 0 which in my understanding means it is good. However when I replaced my cycling thermostat on my dryer it was registering continuity as well but it was still bad. So I don't trust the test. A dryer is one thing with its mechanical parts but the electronics on the dishwasher are annoying me. Any ideas what I can do?

Answer
