Tom for Model Number WFG110AVQ0 I received your response indicating that the ignitor is the issue but struggle with how it could be the problem. How does replacing the ignitor change the voltage at the gas saftey valve? The ignitor glows very bright orange and why would tapping a screwdriver handle on the gas saftey valve make the oven come on. I believe you know best but I struggle with the answer.
Answer Hello Tom. The gas valve needs 3.2 to 3.6 VAC to open on it's own. If the igniter is weak, the voltage is drawn to the weak igniter and limited to the gas valve. If you tap on the valve with a low voltage draw, you are basically forcing it to open. You will need to replace the igniter to repair the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
