Ward for Model Number GI0FSAXVY011 I have an ice maker that is not working, also the lift arm was floppy and would not stay in the up position. When pulling the ice tray out the rear auger connection would spin freely I replaced the ice maker with model WPW10300024 and the auger connection in the back to line up will not move and the lift arm is locked in the up position. Did I get a bad Ice maker?
Answer Ward, the manufacturer will oftentimes leave the ice maker in a preset state so that once it is installed, it will complete a harvest mode. Installing the ice maker and allowing it to operate over 24 hours would be recommended. Regarding the ice bin, the auger arm in the bin may need to be rotated so that the cup at the back lines up with the orientation of the auger motor fork. Read More...
