Bob, If there is solid ice accumulating in the ice bin, this sounds like either the icemaker is leaking, the fill tube is not in place properly or the water pressure is too high causing the water to flow in and spill out of the icemaker into the bin.

Ward, the manufacturer will oftentimes leave the ice maker in a preset state so that once it is installed, it will complete a harvest mode. Installing the ice maker and allowing it to operate over 24 hours would be recommended. Regarding the ice bin, the auger arm in the bin may need to be rotated so that the cup at the back lines up with the orientation of the auger motor fork.

Water is dripping from the icemaker down into the ice bin. I think the ice maker is slightly overfilling and it is dripping from the lowest corner (right front) down into the ice bin fusing ice cubes together in the bin. I took the icemaker out and can't find a leak when I fill it with water. When I purposely overfill it, it drips out of the same place I see it drip when it's in the refrigerator. Is there a way to adjust how much water fills the icemaker. It is Icemaker W103000024.

Don, while the ice maker WPW10300024 water flow can be slightly adjusted on the right side of the motor, it would be recommended that the inlet tube above the ice maker is checked for indications of water leaking by. The valve W11043013 would also need to be tested for 120VAC at the end of an ice maker harvest mode. If it receives voltage for more than 9 to 12 seconds, the icemaker would be the cause of failure. However, if it does not receive voltage after 12 seconds but water still comes through, the valve has failed.

Matt, There is a tab to push in on the side of the ice maker where the harness plugs in to release the harness.

Maytag side by side. Ice maker not making ice. First noticed the tray being frozen solid with ice. Took out the ice maker to thaw out. Reinstalled it and ran a full harvesting cycle. Thought it was fixed, but next day no ice. Ran a jumper from V-L and water started filling the tray (so not a frozen line). Since im getting water I don’t think it’s a valve problem. Maybe a bad module or heating element? The number on my module is W10364659 but can’t find that cross referenced anywhere. Thanks

Shawn C, Start by checking the temperature at the ice maker, It should be below 10°F for the icemaker to cycle and call for water. It is not likely the module since it works when jumped, and the heater just helps the ice release from the mold. This could be a thermostat in the ice maker or a cooling issue not getting the temperature down to a cycle point.

My ice maker was leaking water, so I removed the ice maker assembly, used a hair dryer to get rid of excess ice in the ice maker compartment. Put everything back together and ran overnight. Next morning more water on the floor. Took it apart once again. It made a full tray of ice but would not deliver ice. Ice covered the floor of the compartment and the back part of the ice bin was frozen solid, so the motor couldn't turn to deliver ice. Also the cup-fill part was filled with solid ice. What is the most likely culprit? Thanks for you help! -Paul

Hello Arron, if the wire harness cannot connect to the new ice maker, you will need ice maker kit W10882923 which has the ice maker along with 2 replacement wire harnesses, one of which will fit your model to accommodate the new service replacement ice maker.
