Jason for Model Number mgc5430bdb All three of my four Igniter Switch Assembly got burned out. It happened over a period of 30 days when I tried to turn them on. I would hear a electrical pop and then a burn odor. I opened up the Igniter Switch Assembly and it was burned,I also check the igniter and they seems to be in good condition. I am getting ready to purchase the Igniter Switch Assembly, and switch module. What makes the Igniter Switch Assembly burned up? Thanks
Answer Jason, You're on track and target. The most common issue with shorted burner valve ignition switches, is boil overs and spillage or exessive water when cleaning the appliance. As long as there is 120 VAC power supplied to the cooktop, the ignition switches are "hot" and will short, if moisture is allowed to enter the assembly. You'll be fine once you get the WP74007696 and the 8215557 . Thanks and Good Luck Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, December 22, 2011
