Ann for Model Number KUDS01ILBT1 The dishwasher has starting leaving tiny particles that are very gummy on all items in the dishwasher. They appear as small particles of food, but when I try to rub these particles off by hand, they clearly have a gummy or sticky base that "smears" a sticky streak on the dishes and items have to be soaked, hand-washed, and scrubbed to get this residue off. I've run cleaners and even vinegar through the machine, and there were no indications of anything buidling up that I can see in the machine. I have been unable to get the knob on the hub of the lower spray arm to release so that I can look inside. I have always rinsed dishes (effectively clean when they go into the machine)and this is a sudden problem that developed this week. Any ideas what would cause a gummy residue of very small particles (look like some kind of old food I am guessing)? And, how do I get the hub to release so that I can access the screen, chopper blade, and other areas inside to see if a seal or something has gotten "chewed" up and is causing this residue? Thanks.
Answer Ann, Make sure the water temperature in the bottom of the tub after the first fill cycle is at least 120 dgrs.F. Also make sure the water level in the tub is in contact with the bottom of the heating element. Also check and make sure you're using the proper amount of detergent based on the instructions on the box. We're sending you some more information that should be helpful. Thanks Read More...
