Scott for Model Number pye4558ayw my question is, I have power to the dryer and replaced the timer push button does the door switch have a safety so that the push button knows when the door is cloed???? Thank You for your help
Answer Scott, You're on the right track, Yes the door switch has got to have a closed circuit, in order to start the machine, its not necessarily a safety, in the way you mean it. If your door switch circuit is correct, you need to check / repalce the hi limit thermal fuse assembly LA-1053 , if the thermal fuse opens due to a high heat situation, the dryer won't start as well. That component is located on the top of the heater assembly, under the dryer top in the rear left corner of the cabinet. Good Luck. Read More...
