Roderick for Model Number JED8230ADS I have a Smooth top, 2 elements (Lf & Lr) with a grill on the Right side. Both elements stayed on High, would not modulate temperature. I replaced two 7403P405 60 infinity switches with two W11088181 infinity switches. I wired it using Hc as H2. The Lr element worked correctly. However, the Lf switch turned on both the Lf and Lr elements. Checked all the wiring and both switches were wired correctly. Researching on the internet I found one supplier that said to connect old H1 to new Hc and old H2 to new H1. I did and the elements works correctly now. For your info, I did check L2 to Hc for continuity and it was open with switch off. I also noted that H1 is common to both elements but I could find nothing to make the Lr element hot from the Lf switch. What did I miss? Please respond by email if possible.
Answer Roderick, The manufacturer changed the design of the switch in which the L1 now becomes the regulator of temperature as to where the previous infinite switch was L2 as the regulator. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, January 25, 2021
