Julie for Model Number KECC502GBL2 My left front dual burner switch stopped turning on, but prior to this the burner would get very hot, dual would turn on when single indicated, etc. then nothing and the power indicator in always on now. Rest of cooktop works fine. Any suggestions on the problem and what part to order would be great! Can't afford to have a repair man come out! Thanks for your suggestions!
Answer Hello Julie. You will need to test and see if the dual burner switch 8203534 is sending power to the element. Check from neutral to number 2 on the switch, you should have power coming to the switch. Then with the switch on, check across number 3 and neutral and there should be power there. If it has power coming to the switch, but is not sending power to the element, then it is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
