Rick for Model Number GE model 164D3871 Last night I tried to boil a large pot of water for corn on the cob. I've done this a million times with this same pot and amount of water but last night the large burner took about 20 minutes to get the water lukewarm. The burner was on high and I could see through the glasstop that the burner was glowing bright orange. The outer ring turned on and a little quicker than I recall though. I moved the pot to a smaller burner and it finally boiled so that I could finish making dinner. What could the problem be? Surface unit switch? Bad burner? On another note, I was baking at 425 for almost 30 minutes and noticed that pork chops were barely past "done". They weren't even sizzling. This made supper quite unenjoyable if not for the great corn. lol.
