Sam Wands September 14, 2024 for Model Number WFE505WOJSO While using the left rear burner, the burner turned off but the Cooktop On light and Cooktop Hot light stay on - even though the element does turn off. We turned the breaker off for a few minutes but that didn't help. The element does turn on and off but the lights stay on. Not sure what part to replace. Thanks.
1 Answer Sam, You will want to test the switches from P to chassis ground for continuity. If any of them have continuity then this will be a faulty switch. You will also want to test each element on the small terminals that are both on one side for continuity. If there is continuity on any of them then the element is faulty. If none of the switches or elements are faulty then this will be the control board that is faulty. Read More...

Robert February 10, 2024 What are the differences in the infinity switches for 6" (green dot 316436000) heating elements and 8" (red dot 316436001) heating elements for stovetop burners? Why aren't they interchangeable? What would happen if you swap one for the other? Also, is there a difference between infinity switches for 8" heating element that are labelled with a red dot (316436001) vs a black dot (WB24T10029) or are they interchangeable? Thank you in advance. Robert
1 Answer Robert, The infinite switch uses a bi-metallic strip. As current passes through the bimetal connection, it will heat up and deform, opening the contacts turning the power to the element on and off. This is based on the resistance of the element, therefore the 6-inch will be different from the eight-inch and they are not interchangeable. Read More...
