Sue for Model Number whirlpool Same problem, we are going to replace the switch and hopefully that will take care of it. The person that said the problem persists, did it get fixed, or did you end up buying a new range? I have ruined a few dinners because this burner stayed on high. (Left front)
Answer Sue, If the burner is staying on high and not cycling off on on while heating, then the surface element switch would be the most likely issue. There's a resistance circuit in the L2 circuit of the switch, that can fail closed and will not allow the element to cycle off and on, as designed. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
