Hold the direction switch foward, with the cover removed and the platen will go down part way and the motor cuts out .
Answer Hi Philip. You need to find out if it is an electrical or a mechanical issue? Remove the drive chain from the motor and see if the motor part # W10439651 will run as needed regulrily. The motor switch is part # W10439651. If it does without hesitation then look at the chain drive/ gears kit part 882699. Make sure the power screw is not binding in any way.
