Pete for Model Number samsung gas dryer My Samsung gas dryer heater was shutting off after running for few seconds. Checked thermistor and found no continuity, checked thermostat and thermal fuse both had continuity. ordered new thermistor and also thermostat just to replace since access was there. Installed both parts dryer has same issue. Removed and tested new thermistor still no continuity. Checked thermistor with two different volt meters. Had same result. Is it normal for thermistor to have no resistance? Or is the new thermistor bad? Thanks for any help.
Answer Hello Pete. Thermistors do not have continuity. The have an ohms value. Running a few seconds and stopping is either a bad motor or bad control board in the unit usually. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
