Teressa April 23, 2018 for Model Number WED6400SW1 I have a whirlpool cabrio dryer, I get an f24 code, so I changed the thermistor and am still getting the same thing. Should I change the thermal fuse also?
1 Answer Hello Teressa. Check the wiring and make sure it is good and if so, you will need to order and replace the control board on the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Joe K March 17, 2018 for Model Number GEW9200LW0 Dryer was not Heating. 1. I cleaned out every part of dryer to remove Lint. Now Clean. 2. I replaced Thermal Cut off, High Limit Thermo, Heater Element & Thermal Fuse with all New Parts. 3. The Dryer worked for 2 loads and will not Heat again. 4. I did a continuity test on Thermal Cut off, High Limit Thermo, Heater Element, Thermistor & Thermal Fuse. 5. Thermal Cut off and Thermistor show no Continuity. Appreciate any thoughts on why New Thermal Cut off now has No Continuity and should I also replace Thermistor? What may be causing these Shorts?
1 Answer Joe, The thermal cutoff on this unit continuing to blow will be caused by a vent that is clogged. You will want to check the vent to the outside of the home. The thermistor will not read continuity but will read resistance. Read More...
Alex Of Reading February 21, 2018 for Model Number WED9150WW0 The dryer doesn't stop even after the clothes are dry. It is about 8 years old. Is this a thermistor issue?
1 Answer Alex, If this is doing it only on auto dry then it would most likely be the the thermistor but if happening on timed also then would most likely be the control board of the unit. Read More...

Kim December 14, 2017 for Model Number WED5100vqo My dryer made a clattering sound when I pushed the button to start. It started the next time with no noise but didn't heat. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and it heated up and dried a blanket. Then I tried to start it again to dry some other items, but it made a racket, came on but won't heat. Now it doesn't want to come on...Help! Kim
1 Answer Kim, With the unit making a noise without heating then this sounds like it may be a centrifugal switch issue with the motor. You will want to check to make sure that the dryer is clean of lint on the inside and if it is dirty clean it especially around the motor. The lint build up can cause issue with the switch and if it is good then the motor will most likely be the issue. Read More...
Rich D November 20, 2017 for Model Number MDE6700AYW I replaced the High Limit Thermostat, Heating Element, Thermal Fuse with Bracket, Thermostat and Thermistor and the dryer still won't heat. Any ideas? Thanks.
1 Answer Rich, There are 2 components other than the thermostats which would cause the heating element not to work. First is the motor and second the Control board. The best option is to disconnect the power to the unit and access the heating element. Disconnect one wire that is going to the heating element, preferably the one on the thermostat side. Plug the unit back up and using a multimeter you will want to turn the dryer on and test for 120 vac at the terminal on the heater where the wire was disconnected. What this will do is eliminate the heater element itself and the motor. If there is 120 vac at this point then you know the heater is good and the motor is good because the other 120 vac coming through the thermostats is the control board side of the circuit. If there is not 120 vac at that point then you will want to test the other terminal on the heater and check for 120 vac. If there is not 120 vac then the motor would be bad . Read More...
Kayla October 06, 2017 for Model Number WED5200VQ1 My dryer stopped heating, we replaced the heating element and it worked perfectly one time. Then it quit heating again. We replaced the thermal fuse and it worked for two loads. Now it won't heat properly. Sometimes it will heat up a little other times it just blows cold air. What could be the problem?
1 Answer Hello Kayla. You will need to check the vent. It sounds like it may have a vent issue. If the vent is clear, then check the blower housing and wheel. Last would be the timer or motor not allowing it to heat or a bad temp switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Matt September 02, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore 110958724401 Dryer wasn't heating. Did a continuity check on the thermal fuse tested good. Checked thermistor check out bad. I replaced it with a new one ran the dryer. Heated up. Checked it 15 minutes later dryer wasn't hot. Checked the thermistor again and it was showing that it had blown again. What should I do now
1 Answer Matt, You will want to check the wiring that goes between the control board and the thermistor as this will most likely be faulty wiring. Read More...
Robert May 25, 2017 I have an older model Whirlpool dryer...model # LE6150XSNO. It heats and tumbles for about 1.5-2 min. then shuts down. After about 5 min. the prcess can replay... Could this be the result of the high limit switch or thermocoupler?
1 Answer Hello Robert. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the motor is bad and will need to be replaced. It is over heating and causing you these issues. Read More...
D Steeple January 18, 2017 for Model Number GE profile dryer upse810e Would a blown outlet thermister cause the dryer to not start. The digit display lights up and the drying light comes on when start button is pushed but nothing happens. Door switch, interlock switch, thermal fuse and thermostat all test fine.
1 Answer D. Steeple. There is a idler switch that you would want to test if you did not test it already that is next to the motor to make sure that it is good.If it checks ok then you will wan to check to see if there is power to the motor when the start button is pushed. If there is power then the motor is defective and no power would be a bad control board. Read More...
