Vchipoker for Model Number MDG9700AWW Gas dryer was not igniting or gas valve not opening. Repair man a year ago replace thermostat and it still ohms out good. Also I replaced valve coils since one was replaced by same repair man. Since the problem still persists I also replaced igniter on a whim of luck. Currently it will work a couple times a day but not every time. I have tried fervently to find the problem but have only come to see that it may possibly be the gas valve assembly entirely. I am an electrician and need help on this one. Maybe thermistor? It reads resistance on that still but I am out of ideas. the ducts are new and its now operating sometimes. Could the Heater Relay be acting up? No parts are grounded and only codes reading out were "255" not sure what that is and "2" for thermistor but it could have been from when I was running live tests. Any ideas would be very helpful I was like to keep this dryer instead of buying one.
Answer Vchipoker, You will want to check the flame sensor to make sure that it has continuity. If this has continuity then it is ok but you will also want to check for a shorted booster coil, open wiring a possible bad motor switch. if all these things check ok then the issue will be a control board that is faulty.
