Mel J for Model Number roper dryer # red4440qv1 timer Checked all start buttons and fuse. When I took the timer off,it rattled inside. I took it apart and found, that the bottom gear was broke at the tip. It would not stay in place like the rest of the gears.Would this stop the dryer from starting? Do not want to buy a timer, if thats not the problem.
