Danny for Model Number red444ovq1 I have a roper dryer given to me it works only on some heat settings. I took the heating element and the sensors to an appliance place after I tested the element and those sensors or fuses with a vom meter. I wanted to have them double-check me. And they said all tested good. I just wanted to know for sure if that just leaves the timer which they said they could not check but sounded like the timer to them. Do I need a timer for sure?
Answer Danny, based on the information provided, as the rest of the components are testing good, the timer WPW10185972 would indeed be the likely cause as it is the last part in the circuit. The timer can be tested from terminal C to terminal A (with the power cord removed from the outlet) and should read continuity between the terminals when set to the beginning of each heating cycle.
