Mitchell for Model Number Kenmore 110.96581120 Recently, our dryer has been acting up. No problems with the motor, heating elements, etc. The problem appears to be with the Timer unit. A year or so ago, the START button stopped working, but we have always been able to start the dryer by simply turning the timer knob counter-clockwise into the "timed dry" area. It would run for the set amount of time and then cut off as usual. No problem. After a while we noticed that, after we reached the set point (60 min. for example), we would have to "jiggle" the timer handle to get it to run. Today it has finally decided not to run at all. Do you think its the timer unit, or could it be something else. Its old, not sure we want to put much into repairing it. Thanks!
Answer Hello Mitchell. Based on the information you provided, it does sound like the timer is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Make sure the thermal fuse and the door switch is good. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, March 26, 2014
