Ernest for Model Number 110.60912990 The dryer will run and dry but the timer will cycle to the next cycle by itself and continue to run. I replaced the timer but it did not fix the problem. I also found that when I turn the knob to the next cycle, the unit comes on even though I didn't press the start button. I opened the door to shut it off but it continues to run with the door open. Any suggestions?
Answer Hello Ernest, With the door open the unit should shut off. If the unit continues to run then you have a bad door switch. Also you will want to check your neutral wire from the door switch to the motor and back to timer for short to ground. This would keep the timer motor operating. Also check for shorted centrifugal switch. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
