Dennis for Model Number Whirlpool LTG6234001 My dryer spins and heats up for about 10-15 minutes then stops heating or cools down also the timer does not advance in Auotmatic perm press setting I cleaned the lint trap and removed the panel and vacuumed out lower section and the blower motor I also checked the outside exhaust vent and the airflow seems ok it's not super high pressure but it seems sufficient enough. It keeps the flap/vent open. In an earlier response you indicated it could either be one of three things. Bad gas valve coil or bad gas valve or restricted exhaust. Is there any way to narrow down if it is a bad gas valve coil or bad gas valve? Replacing the gas valve looks cumbersome to myself. The gas coil replacement looks easy enough
Answer Dennis, You can test the coils using a multi-meter. The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coil will read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms across prongs 1&3. If the coil checks ok then the valve would be the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 2, 2016
