James for Model Number WGD5200TQ0 I'm trying to fix this dryer that will run just fine, but won't heat up. I checked all thermostats and fuses and they all have continuity. Next I replaced the gas coils which didn't resolve issue. Then I checked voltage at the gas ignitor and didn't find any voltage at all at ingitor so I replaced the timer as well. Still no heat and still no voltage at the ignitor. At this point I think it's either the gas valve itself or maybe the motor. What do you think? Does motor have any thing to do with voltage being recieved at the ignitor? Thanks.
Answer James,The power to the ignitor goes through the timer, the thermostats, the thermal cut-off, the thermal fuse, the flame switch, and the motor. Any one of these can cause an issue, the most common would be the thermal fuse or the thermal cut-off, and the least likely the motor. Use the tech sheet from the machine to trace out and check these components. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, February 24, 2025
