James L. for Model Number 110.23812100 Washer fills with water and agitates however, when it is supposed to go into the spin cycle it will not advance to this cycle and will not spin out. Water just remains in the washer. What would cause this problem and what part would I need.
Answer Hello James, If the unit sits there for a few minutes and you hear a click, the motor is overheating and tripping out the overload. If this is the case, check for a loose connection to the capacitor. If the connections are good, check for more than one wire to the motor in the motor harness that is carrying 120Vac. This can be caused by a bad timer, a bad fabric selector switch (speed selector switch), a shorted harness, or a bad winding in the motor. If the motor will do the spin when the drain pump is off of the motor and the lid switch is bypassed, the issue is something inside the drain pump, binding it so the motor cannot turn in that direction. If it still will not turn and the motor will spin when off of the unit in the floor, (and the lid switch is bypassed), the issue could be an item between the tubs, a bad brake assembly, or a bad clutch assembly. This will just have to be searched for since it can be caused by multiple causes. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, April 15, 2014
