Larry for Model Number Estate tedx640pq0 Dryer runs, but doesn't heat, doesn't stop unless door is opened or turn the control dial to 'off', and control dial doesn't autoadvance. Heating element is damaged. When removing the timer, I noticed the connections on red and black wires were black. What could have caused burnt connections? How do I test the timer? I am familiar with ohmmeter.
Answer Hello Larry. It is normal for the terminals to turn black, as long as they are not burnt and melted. It sounds like the bad heater is the reason the timer WP8299781 is not advancing. If the heater does not work, no power is supplied to the timer motor. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, January 18, 2012
