Sue for Model Number EED4300VQo My dryer won't turn on. It makes a humming noise when I push the start button like it want's to start. We replaced the motor and checked the thermo fuse ,door switch and the cycling thermostat. Could it be the timer? Thanks, Sue
Answer Sue, The motor hum, tells you the voltage is getting to the motor, but is the voltage correct, You could have a faulty contact in the timer, You could check for 110-120 VAC , on the blue wire at the timer to chassis ground, when you press the start button, with a multi meter. Your first check should be at the terminal block of the dryer on the back, make sure there are no loose connections there, and you have 240 VAC across the two outside terminals of the block(where the wires attach). You need to be careful, if you do live voltage tests. Good Luck and Thanks Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, April 28, 2012
