Cal762 for Model Number 110.24962301 Daughter was doing laundry. Said washer stopped mid cycle. Would not do anything on any timer setting. No filling with water, no spinning, no nothing. Bypassed lid switch. Could hear faint clicking every minute or so. (I guess i didn't notice that before.) Figured out it was the circuit breaker in the motor, and that the motor was shorted. Installed new motor, same problem. Nothing except clicking noise from breaker again.(And a lighter wallet.) Drivetrain is free/not binding. Could it be in the wiring or the timer? How do I check it?
Answer Cal, Check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the drain pump and that the drain pump is turning. If something has gotten caught it will cause the motor to trip out on overload. If this checks ok then you will want to make sure that there is power to the motor. If there is then this would most likely be a timer issue. Read More...
