Bill for Model Number WTW5550SQ0 Washer was agitating in one direction only. The spin cycle seemed to work fine so I replaced the gearcase. The washer is now agitating properly. At then end of the agitation, the motor stops then after a few seconds the timer clicks once but motor doesn't run for over a minute when the motor starts the gearcase makes a grinding noise, clutch is not spinning, and will not drain or spin without opening and closing lid. After opening and closing lid it starts spinning and draining at the same. I think it should be draining down before the tub starts spinning but I'm not positive. Do I have a timer issue or is there a problem with the new gearcase?
Answer Bill, This would be a neutral drain issue. The neutral drain allows the unit to run the motor without spinning in order to drain the wash tub. The neutral drain is in part of the gearcase. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 25, 2024
