Matt for Model Number Kenmore 28522700 The washing machine filled with water but won't run. I checked the lid switch. It shows continuity with the lid closed. I even bypassed the switch with a jumper wire and it still won't run. I have read that some washing machines will do this and have a buzzing noise. Mine is silent. How can I check the timer and motor? thank you, Matt
Answer Hi. If the motor does not stay running then it has either bad bearings, dragging armature, shorted windings or centrifugal switch contacts. Therefore it will also open the heat circuit passing through separate centrifugal contacts as well. Either way the motor part # WE17X10010 needs replaced.
