Bdobbs for Model Number 110.64972301 My dryer only runs when the push to start switch is held down. Heat blows, dryer tumbles, but as soon as I release it the dryer stops. I replaced the electronic controller, and push to start switch. It worked for about a month and now is doing the same thing. My timer continues to run even when the dryer isn't running. Do I need to replace my controller board again or is it the timer?
Answer Hello Bdobbs, it sounds as though you may have a problem with the start switch on your motor. It's the plastic piece on the motor where the wires attach. It has to be activated once you release the start button and it doesn't sound as though that's happening. Sometimes lint will build up around the centrifigal mechanism and keep it from working correctly. If the switch itself is bad it will require ordering a new motor. Read More...
