Wayne for Model Number LAT9704AAM My washer never stops agitation to drain or spin unless I turn off the motor by opening the lid or pushing the knob in. Closing the lid or pulling the knob back out restarts the motor and the drain/spin starts when the timer is in the spin position. Also, the two speed motor will only run for about 15 to 30 seconds in the delicates cycle it will restart after about 3 to 5 minutes and repeat. I think this is due to the motor overload protector cutting the power to the motor. I found the Cam 6 contact (Motor - Regular Speed) contact stuck closed using a multi-meter and the cam follower bent upwards. I have ordered a replacement timer, but is there anything other than old age that may have caused this contact to weld closed?
Answer Hello Wayne. Based on the information you provided, the motor 12002353 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 5, 2012
