Sharon for Model Number LAT8714AAE The only cycle that will run completely is the delicate mode. The other cycles will start the process, fill the tub with water and while the timer still moves, nothing else happens. Has the timer gone bad? My repair guy said I needed a new timer, don't know if he checked the connections at all and wants to charge $315 to replace the timer. I am looking at your replacement timer and it is running $128. What do you think?
Answer Sharon, It is possible that the timer is the cause for the failure but it could also be the motor. The motor runs at a lower speed on the delicate cycle than it does on the normal wash. This also includes the spin. You would want to check to make sure that the motor is getting power from the timer. If not then replace the timer. Read More...
