William P. for Model Number MAH5500AWW When I set the control dial to normal, sometimes, the dial does not advance to the off position but stays on "normal" setting and there is a lot of water in the the tub as if the wash has not completed but the machine is off. I rotate the dial to normal again, restart the wash, and it seems the wash cycle completes and shuts off normally with the dial indicator advancing to off. Is this intermittent function a timer problem?
Answer Hi. Do you also hear ticking while the timer is running? This is a indication of the timer aging. It does sound like the timer needing changed since you have intermittent issues of it completing the cycle fully drained. Also, remove the front panel and see if the drain pump part # WP22003059 is clogged. Clear all debris. If the impeller spins loose on the pump shaft or the pump armature flooded with water, then replace the pump. If there are suds then fill in low -cold water wash and then advance to a final spin and drain over and over until the suds are gone. Thank You. Read More...
