Gerard for Model Number medc400vwo Hello, I have a Maytag dryer (electric), model medc400vwo. When I turn the knob to select the cycle, the dryer does not run. The heating element heats up; however there is no other response from the dryer. I have replaced a thermal fuse and the door switch. I believe I may have a problem with the timer motor. Can you tell me the correct timer motor for my model, if this is the correct diagnosis. Thank you
Answer Gerard, Are you sure the dryer heats but the motor won't run ? if that is the case, that would indicate an issue in the dryer motor 279827 not the timer or timer motor WP8299779 . If the dryer won't start , run or heat, your first check should be at the thermal fuse WP3392519 located on the blower housing. When this fuse opens, usually due to an overheating situation, the power to the motor is eliminated, and the motor won't start , run or activate the heater circuit. Yes, you could have an issue in the timer, but that's not the first place to start, based on your information. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, July 2, 2013
